Deux vieilles maisons en pierre composent un corps de ferme entouré par d’anciens jardins et des champs de pâturage. Les clients rénovent les bâtiments pour créer un gîte de luxe et une maison de famille en préservant l’esprit naturel et agricole du lieu et sa biodiversité. Le projet paysager comprend des jardins d’agrément, une piscine naturelle, un verger, un jardin potager, une mare, un champ de lavande et des prairies fleuries. Un système d’assainissement autonome sera dissimulé dans le paysage. Les changements de niveaux existants ont été soigneusement reprofilés pour rendre le terrain plus accessible. Le mistral souffle fort à cet endroit et les plantations d’arbres et de haies filtreront le vent sans dissimuler les vues magnifiques.

Private garden in the Drôme

The property sits on the top of a promontory with amazing 360° views of the mountains. Two old stone houses make up an old farm, surrounded by abandoned gardens and fields used for pasture. The clients are renovating both buildings to an exceptionally high standard in order to create a family home and a luxury gite. They are taking great care to retain the natural & agricultural ambiance of this beautiful place as well as conserving and enhancing its rich biodiversity. The landscaping project includes gardens, a natural swimming pool, an orchard, a pond, a lavender field and wild-flower meadows. The complex changes in level will be re-profiled in places with the renovation and building of traditional dry-stone walls. A reed-bed waste-water system will be masked by careful planting. Trees and hedges will be planted to protect the gardens from the mistral wind without blocking the magnificent views.
